Stag House, Stoney Middleton

Stag House, Stoney Middleton

One of our completed projects set in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The 3m deep extension which runs the length of the rear of the existing property gained a lawful development certificate from the council. Stone was sourced locally and hand cut to shape to match the stone of the existing house. Our contractor paid special attention to contemporary details such as the bifold doors which open level with the outdoor paving to create a spacious outside-inside setting. Other finishing touches such as the large fixed skylights, a landscape framing piicture window and concealed flat roof guttering, give this small but stunning extension a feeling of superior quality.

We worked closely with Anna Manning on the design and planning permission phases on a proposed extension to our 17 century cottage in the Peak District. Anna provided a great service in translating our thoughts into a practical solution, which she helped us to evolve into the final design which was put to planning. Perhaps, even more important she navigated this design through the planning process with the Peak National Park Authority planning team, which was no easy task & her knowledge and understanding of their expectations was critical. The outcome was planning consent and certificate, under Permitted Development, which has given us the green light to take the project forward. Anna listens well, is patient, has an eye for detail and her use of modelling to illustrate her designs, all made this an invaluable and cost effective experience.
