Anna listened to the initial project brief I had in mind for my residential property refurbishment and made positive alternative suggestions where issues could possibly arise or would not meet planning requirements. She was knowledgeable about specialist planning requirements associated with properties located in the Peak District National Park. All planning applications were completed on my behalf and were passed without issue. Some minor amendments to the planning application were required during the project and these were submitted well within any deadlines and I was kept informed of the progress in a timely manner. The planning drawings were to a very high standard allowing the building work to commence without issue. I am disabled and wanted to make substantial changes internally, which required removing walls, widening doorways, converting the garage into a bedroom and en-suite shower room, installing a new kitchen and wet room.
MHA produced detailed drawings which took into account my wheelchair requirements (e.g. my turning circles) and provided comprehensive guides for the builder and the other contractors.
MHA produced all the drawings/paperwork etc necessary for the Building Regulations Compliance required by Chesterfield Borough Council.
The work on the bungalow has been completed and my home to be has been transformed!

Manning Holden architects were/are a pleasure to deal with. I spoke to a few architects when we were looking for help designing an extension and house layout redesign and Anna was by far the most responsive and certainly made us think about things. We went through a number of initial designs before narrowing them down to fit in with our requirements and budget. Anna did all the drawings and submitted our plans to The Peak Park planning team, and we had planning approval with the minimum of fuss. Would highly recommend Manning Holden.
Anna listened to our requirements really carefully and came up with a beautiful plan. We went from a 3 bedroomed, one bathroom house with a tight staircase in the middle of the house, to one with two bathrooms, a completely new stairwell extension and large utility area with extra loo. Anna also provided us with plans to convert above the large double garage, which we’ve been living in since the start of the house conversion. We’re not quite finished yet, but it’s absolutely stunning.
Anna’s sage advice and guidance at the start of the project meant that planning was granted very quickly - not bad for a 1760s farm worker’s cottage in the Derbyshire Dales.
