Affordable housing and community allotments for Cavendish site, Matlock

Recently we have been working with the Matlock Community Land Trust to come up with a balanced plan to provide the local community with affordable houses, some valuable parking, open space and allotments. The site is currently a disused playing field and a car park which the Council have site ear-marked for a development of 30 homes. We think our alternitive plan would be a great development for the local community, allowing local people to afford local housing and bringing back some Matlock allotments after the Starkholmes ones were bulldozed last year. We are very pleased to say that the site has now been listed as an 'Asset of Community Value'
